Engine Configuration
The BMW M3 Competition Sedan with M xDrive and BMW M4 Competition Coupe with M xDrive are powered by a 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo petrol engine that develops a maximum power of 510 hp and a maximum torque of 650 Nm.
Drive is sent to the wheels via an 8-speed M Steptronic gearbox with Drivelogic and an intelligent all-wheel drive system.
Performance-wise, the cars complete the Race of the Century in just 3.5 seconds.
Driving Enhancement Technology
As mentioned above, the cars feature the M xDrive all-wheel drive system that comes with intentional rear wheel siding. That is, during normal driving, power is directed to the rear wheels. However, the front wheels also get their share of power when the car reaches its traction limits.
Complementing the AWD system at the rear axle is an active M differential that splits the engine’s power between the rear wheels. Thus ensuring enhanced agility, traction, and directional stability.
The driver can customize the characteristics of the AWD system according to his individual preferences and driving situation. All of this can be done with three driving modes, including 2WD, 4WD and 4WD Sport.
Developed specifically for track driving, the M Drive Professional helps the driver make steady progress by tracking and recording performance data.
design language
Both cars benefit from the automaker’s clever lightweight construction, part of which is a carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic roof that helps enhance agility and lower the center of gravity.
Some of the eye-catching design elements include a frameless all-black grille, stylish headlights, trapezoidal air intake and M light-alloy wheels.
Cabin Inclusions
The cabin has been designed with the driver’s complete focus remaining on the road and passengers enjoying every part of their time in the car. For that, the cars come with textured surfaces and an impeccable cockpit.
Optional features
BMW Malaysia offers many optional and customizable equipment such as – exterior trim, cabin upholstery, steering assist, interior finishes and M Performance parts.
