Exactly 50 years after that day, the company now known as BMW M GmbH is presenting an exclusive range of Edition models as one of the highlights of the current anniversary.

The BMW M 50 Jahre Edition is based on the current generation of the most successful model series in the history of BMW M GmbH. Worldwide, the BMW M3 and BMW M4 model designations are synonymous with high performance in the mid-luxury segment. Edition models are powered by a 375 kW / 510 hp inline-six engine, M TwinPower Turbo technology and high acceleration characteristics. Depending on the model variant, its power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission or 8-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic, or distributed entirely to all four wheels using M xDrive technology.

The exclusive character of the release models is the result of a market-specific configuration with unique design features and a completely limited number of units in each case. In Europe and selected other sales regions, BMW M GmbH is presenting an exclusive edition of the BMW M4 Coupe in celebration of its anniversary. The BMW M 50 Jahre two-door version comes in the exterior colors: Carbon Black, Macau Blue, Hatch Brand Grey, Imola Red and San Marino Blue. Its expressive appearance is enhanced by 19-inch M wheels on the front axle and 20-inch wheels on the rear axle featuring a double-spoke design, which are offered for the first time in Orbit Gray Matt and Gold Bronze Matt colours.

In addition, a similarly limited number of BMW M4 Coupe Edition vehicles are being produced for the Chinese auto market and are available in Fire Orange and Stratus Gray exterior paint finishes. This color choice relates to the fact that the anniversary of BMW M GmbH is celebrated in China in the year of the tiger. The forged M wheels on these vehicles are finished in a matte gray combined with a fiery orange body color and matte gold bronze combined with a Stratos Gray exterior paint finish.
